Tanamasi Tanamasi is a traditional Malinke greeting that translates literally as "Did you sleep without evil?", eg, did you have nice dreams and not woken with angst. I thought it is a great greeting, and I thought I would do something in 3/4 time, transposed as 12/8 to make it easier to see, but it is definitely "waltzy". wayne alford 2008-07-17

Toque - 1 player Here is a toque transfered from bata. 6/8 The right hand plays the 6/8 clave and a high drum with a stick - except for one note that coincides with the bell. 4/4 One hand can play the clave and high drum. It's a great combination the folkloric clave with a pulse from 6/8. I have applied this with guaguanco and conga rhythms on the other hand. I have began with the 4/4 clave as I first worked it out and got used to playing it. I was later informed that the clave was the wrong way round. The correct way for a toque is shown in the second 4/4 section. Tim Rowley 2003-08-13
